The Descent of an Angel to Strengthen Christ
At the beginning, and very briefly, the meaning of strengthening is that the body of Christ becomes strengthened and is given power to endure the suffering.
But we also see that the angels were serving Christ.
In the Gospel of Matthew (4:11), after the temptation of the devil:
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to Him.
Also, the angels announced His coming from the beginning; before the birth of Christ, the angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary, as in the Gospel of Luke (1:35):
The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore also, the Holy One who is to be born of you will be called the Son of God.
Likewise, the angel announced His birth to the shepherds in the Gospel of Luke (2:9–10):
Therefore, the birth of Christ is good news for the whole world
And we also read in the Gospel of Matthew (28:2)
And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it
Through this, we notice that the angels were always present with Christ and serving Him, and they were even worshiping Him as mentioned in:
The Epistle to the Hebrews (1:6)
And let all the angels of God worship Him.
The Book of Revelation (5:11–14)
And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,
Saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing,
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever,
Then the four living creatures said: Amen. And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever
The angels were accompanying Christ, serving Him, announcing Him, and worshiping Him, and likewise all creation, which shows the greatness of His glory and His eternal authority
And glory be to God always and forever
