The body of Christ is the veil
the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.”
(Matthew 27:51)
“Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
(Mark 15:38)
“And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle.”
(Luke 23:45)
And thus, the tearing of the veil of the temple—while the priests were occupied with offering the evening sacrifice at the time of Christ’s crucifixion and His yielding up of the Spirit—symbolizes that Christ, as the Great High Priest, opened the way into the Holy of Holies for all believers to enter.
This is the foundation of the profound truth expressed in the Epistle to the Hebrews
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
(Hebrews 10:19–22)
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
(Hebrews 6:19–20)
“But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation; not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
(Hebrews 9:11–12)
